Formalising the Informal

Our task is to evaluate informal arguments. By “informal” we do not mean casual or weak arguments. We mean arguments that are not structured in any particular way; we mean “informal” as “having no specific form”. The first step in evaluating these kinds of arguments will be to give them a form.

Informal Arguments are inferences that have no specific form. To evaluate informal arguments, you must formalise them.
